Backstory: "The Vigil" is a secretive group who follow Helm, with Kaeru Pertronic among their members. As a "Warden", he travels wherever the Vigil requires to ensure that threats to multiple planes are dealt with and ensure there is no unauthorized planar portal use.

Time moves differently throughout the different planes. The Vigil's headquarters, Nexus Point, exists in a planar pocket where all planes converge and time and aging stands still. This dominion is known as Sigil and is a bustling metropolis on the planar wheel. The ring city is floating above a vast mountain range and is one of 16 other cities which line the wheel. Given the inter-planar inconsistencies with time, Kaeru is now *340 human years old*, but with a body which barely has entered its prime years. Nexus Point also acts as an ambassador outpost of sorts for the planes (ie; abyssal, draconic, celestial, infernal), which helps from a diplomatic and policing standpoint.

As a Warden, however, diplomacy is often not on the table. And due to the potential ramifications of extreme planar disturbances, no one is exempt from the sanctions of the Vigil. Kaeru takes this role seriously, and like his peers, will do whatever it takes to mitigate any threats to the planes.
